Namco is a huge arcade and amusement chain in Japan.
One of the big attractions for girls in Namco is a thing called “Print Club”, shortened to puri-kura in Japanese. In these machines, you step inside with your friends and take photos with a green screen behind you. You can pick the colour or pattern of the background. Once you’re done, you go around the corner of the machine and enter an editing area. Once there, you use a touch screen to add cute pictures or letters, draw on the pictures, and decorate them however you’d like. It’s always necessary to add lots of sparkles! Then when you’re satisfied, print them out and off you go.
This is the culture of the young generation of Japanese teenagers, but you can also find older adults having fun and mucking around in it.
You can also find UFO catchers and arcade games here!
